NEW RESEARCH FROM SYDNEY UNIVERSITY

Overheating in non air-conditioned workplaces is becoming a very hot topic! Investigation into the efficacy of alternate thermal comfort systems has led the University of Sydney’s Department of Thermal Ergonomics, led by Professor Ollie Jay, to focus on fans! Since the stone age humans have been using fans to keep cool. So the University of Sydney team decided to put some research behind determining modern day productivity, health and comfort outcomes through the use of fans. The recent study titled "Fanning As An Alternative to Air-Conditioning - A Sustainable Solution for Reducing Indoor Occupational Heat Stress" provides some fascinating figures.
Using fans only, in simulated heatwave  conditions of 30 deg C and 70% RH, the surveyed participants reported greater levels of comfort after bouts of rigorous activity when compared to the same acivity in a 23 deg C air-conditioned environment. This equates to improvements of 11% in worker productivity, in comparison to an air-conditioned environment of 23 deg C!

That’s an extra 6 weeks a year of productivity for free just by using low energy fans! There are also major reductions in capital costs and energy savings by using fans as an alternative to AC in large internal work environments. Airius fans, when located correctly, can put the air where it is needed, at the required airspeeds which optimise occupancy comfort and ensure alignment with the results of the USyd study. As evidence of Airius’ leading position in the air movement design and engineering space, Airius have recently been invited to partner in the next phase of this research programme with Professor Ollie Jay et al and the University of Sydney. The goal is to establish design principals of air movement through deeper practical research, which will, hopefully, result in further knowledge and understanding of the value of fans and air movement in heatwave conditions across a range of facilities and applications. We aim to bring this cutting edge information to you, our valued customers and specifiers, as the research findings are made available... more to come.

NEWS ALERT - G560EC Diamond to be manufactured in Australia

Some exciting news is in this month... ensuring that Airius continues to provide our customers with the best airflow for the best price, we will be now producing our biggest air mover, the G560EC Diamond, in Australia! This will offer significant savings to both contractors and clients who wish to ready themselves for summer with the very best in Airius air movement! Sports stadiums, warehouses and many other high ceiling applications will benefit friom this Aussie made beast! No other fan in the market can move as much air as quietly and reliably.

With so many exciting things happening this new Financial Year, we look forward to working with you as we continue to reinvent airflow with the leading Airius Fan Range.
